Connecting Within ~ Meditations to help during this time of uncertainty

Happy New Year!

It's been quite a while since I've posted on this blog.  One of my goals for this year is to be more consistent with it.  I think it's been a goal in previous years...but hey, it's never too late 😉 .

Is it just because I’m getting older, or did 2012 seem to go by incredibly fast for you as well?  I don’t think it’s just me.  I’ve even heard people in their early 20’s talk about how quickly time seems to go by.  I think it’s because we are always involved with something.  Even sitting at a stoplight…what used to be a moment where you couldn’t do anything else but watch what was around you and breathe, has now turned into an opportunity to check your phone to see if you’ve missed anything important.

With that in mind, I’ve decided to work on being more present.  I’m not calling it a resolution….those never work anyway 😉 .  I don’t want weeks to go by without actually experiencing them.  Acknowledging the experiences or activities I’m involved in allows me to appreciate what each day gives me…even if it’s not the best day.  At least I’m alive, probably healthy, and hopefully those I care about are as well.  Whether I’m worrying about the future or thinking about what I’m not doing or would like to be doing, it’s keeping me from enjoying what I am doing right now, at this minute.  Sharing my thoughts with all of you…..which fills me with a sense of appreciation for each of you who takes the time to read and/or comment on this blog.  ♥

What would you like to bring more of in your life?  If you’d like to work on being more present, join me on this journey of just allowing yourself to be.  I’ll be posting things relevant to this endeavor on facebook as well as additional blog posts.

I’d love to hear what you want to gain in this new year.

  1. A great goal for the new year, I'll be joining you in this endeavor as well. Thanks for the reminder to slow down, be present and enjoy (as I'm currently scarfing down my lunch so I can rush back to work 😉 ). Great post! 🙂
