Today is the first day of May. That means Sexual Assault Awareness Month is over. While I’m a little sad about that….it really could go on throughout the year, I’m also very happy and energized about my goal for the month ~ spreading the message of hope for healing.
I can’t express just how grateful I am to all of you who participated, in whatever way you did. Whether it was sharing a story, sharing the information with others, or joining the conversation through the blog & youtube.
When I decided to share stories, I honestly wasn’t sure if anyone would participate. It certainly turned out better than expected. 🙂
When you’ve experienced something as difficult and isolating as sexual abuse, support and knowing you’re not alone is so incredibly important. Through the stories and comments you shared you were able to provide something that is not readily available…the message that things can be different, that hope isn’t just some mystical idea…but something real and possible. Hooray for you! 🙂
