Episode Description:
This episode originally aired on YouTube.
Childhood trauma shapes the way we think in a lot of different ways. For years, I found myself stuck in thought patterns that weren't serving me well. It can be so hard to change these patterns, especially if you’ve been carrying them for a long time. And I know many of you can relate.
If you've ever felt like your mind is working against you, or you're constantly bracing for the worst, this episode might resonate with you. In this episode, I'll guide you through a simple practice that's been instrumental in my healing process. It's a small step that can lead to big changes in how you see yourself and the world around you.
I hope you’ll find this practice as helpful as I have. I’d love to hear from you in the comments. Can you relate? Share some of your experiences.

Episode Notes:
- Peggy shares a personal story about being labeled a pessimist and how, through healing, she's become more optimistic, though pessimism can still resurface during vulnerable times.
- She encourages intentional reflection on things one has created or experienced, even if they didn’t turn out as expected. This practice helps shift focus from fear and pessimism to empowerment.
- Journaling is emphasized as a valuable tool to uncover overlooked feelings, especially in recognizing small accomplishments that contribute to personal growth.
- Fear often disguises itself as pessimism, apathy, or powerlessness, and intentional efforts to connect with positive experiences can help counteract this.
- Consistent practice of journaling and self-reflection, even if not done perfectly, gradually replaces fear-driven thoughts with more compassionate and realistic ones.
