When you heart is feeling weary... ❤️

Some days it's just really hard to face the day. Sometimes it might be something really significant, but a lot of times it's just small things that add up, that build up that create difficulty, some struggle. That's okay. Everybody has those days, whether they acknowledge it or not. That's part of being human.

It's part of having a human heart.

There's so much going on in the world. And if you're reading this, there's likely a lot going on within you... from the past and present concerns about the future. You're not alone.

Being present, trying to be very intentional about being present and what is in front of you right now... Is there something that might help you feel better? What might that be?

Maybe it's as simple as just giving yourself a few moments to rest, to breathe, to get a drink of water, to stop the doing, doing, doing.

Maybe it's reaching out to somebody and just saying hi. Connection is so incredibly important.

Maybe it's responding to somebody who reached out to you in the last few days or few weeks.

If you feel like you're failing, if you feel like you're not getting things done, take a moment to reflect on what you have actually gotten done.

Even the seemingly small things matter in a big way. Did you get out of bed? Did you brush your teeth? Did you check off anything on your to-do list, even if you don't have a to-do list. 😉

Did you take care of yourself in some way? Maybe you stayed in bed a few extra minutes. Maybe you made sure to drink that glass of water first thing in the morning. Maybe you noticed when you were hungry or needed to go to the bathroom and you did it. Those are all forms of self-care.

And, every time you do something to honor yourself, it matters significantly. Especially if you can do it mindfully, recognizing that in those moments, you're actually taking care of yourself.

A lot of people can get upset with themselves if they need a bathroom break. But when you think of it in terms of "this is a way that I can take care of myself", it can really shift how you feel about it.

And over time, it makes a difference in how you feel about your sense of worthiness.

It takes practice, it takes consistent effort, but it does make a difference.
