Episode Description:

There are many practices along the healing journey. Some are easier than others. There are some you may have a lot of resistance to. There may even be some that feel unnecessary or impossible.

There is one that is the most significant and, unfortunately, can be the most challenging.

You’ve likely heard me talk about it many times. It’s something that comes up over and over again in my individual work and in general conversations about healing.

Connection is at the core of healing, but what does it really mean? If you’ve ever felt disconnected, even when surrounded by people, you’re not alone. That feeling often comes from a misconception of what true connection is.

In this video, I’ll talk about the difference and explore why recognizing… and experiencing authentic connection is essential for your healing journey.

When was the last time you truly felt deeply connected?

Episode Notes:

  • Connection is crucial for healing, but it's not simply about being around people or engaging superficially. True connection requires vulnerability and the willingness to share deeply.
  • Healing happens through meaningful connections where you feel accepted, supported, and understood without judgment, which helps challenge and transform negative self-beliefs.
  • Vulnerability is risky and can feel uncomfortable, but it's essential for creating genuine connections that can shift your understanding of yourself and reduce feelings of shame.
  • When choosing to be vulnerable, carefully consider the recipient - look for people who share vulnerably, are supportive, and create a safe environment for openness.
  • Group healing spaces, like support groups or therapeutic settings, can provide a foundational sense of safety and connection by bringing together people with shared experiences.
