There is something we all experience that impacts more than just that moment in time.
It can cause us to question ourselves, create guilt, and keep us in situations that aren’t healthy… sometimes even abusive.
In today’s video, I’ll share an important distinction to consider as you practice recognizing and setting boundaries and honoring yourself through the trauma healing journey. I’ll also address the impact on learning to trust yourself.

Episode Notes:
- Distinguishing between reasons and excuses is key—while someone’s past may explain their actions, it doesn’t mean you’re obligated to tolerate hurtful behavior.
- Ignoring your intuition to avoid feeling "harsh" or "judgmental" can erode self-trust. Your feelings and boundaries matter, even if they seem inconvenient to others.
- Empathy can lead us to rationalize others' behavior, but true self-care includes honoring your own needs and not downplaying them for someone else’s sake.
- Boundaries don’t have to mean ending relationships; they’re about setting respectful limits based on your emotional capacity and need for well-being.
